| hey, i'm back--haven't been able to download the whole thing until yesterday-- it seems that most of the preview issues i was experiencing are gone--but-- i noticed something worth checking out-- i muted the first four bars, then previewed an intro for the fifth bar, and the preview was messed up-- oh no, not again, right?--but then i tried unmuting the bars and then the preview worked great--so i tried this again, and every time the mute function messed up the preview--then i tried only muting the first three bars--same problem--then i tried just muting the third bar--and preview worked--then i muted only the second bar, and the preview on the fifth bar was again messed up-- obviously i haven't exactly been able to narrow down the problem to a science, but i hope this info is helpful (and it better happen when u try to duplicate this problem or else you'll know i'm going crazy) and again i'm using cubase sl, in case that makes a difference |

hey, first of all just wondering if any progress has been made in regard to the previews-- i think that the mute button is just one of the instances in which preview does not work--i'm not even sure if the new jamstix i dowloaded is any better than the old one--
for instance, if I set the first four bars to rhythm one, which has no rhythm loaded (in order to keep it silent so jamstix will have time to synch up)then the fill i preview on rhythm 0 at bar 8 will not work properly--only if the first four bars have a rhythm going does the preview work--and if use only one rhythm with the lock bar function, it gets messed up, too--now, the problem cannot be me anymore, or my dowload of jamstix, because we've already tried that--so i really hope u can duplicate and address this problem-- please let me know what u think |

We're still working on it. Just for the record, we haven't heard of anyone else yet with the problem so it is hard to duplicate, fix and test. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

In your example with the four bars muted, if you unmute bar 3 does the preview work properly? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

It's the oddest thing but now that we can duplicate it we can fix it.

| but that's only when trying to preview a fill on bar 8, but when i'm trying to preview a fill on bar 5, then unmuting the third bar doesn't help--only unmuting the second bar helps in that instance |

Yes, there's an odd linkage between muting and previewing on internal clock between bars of varying distance. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| ok-great, i'm glad u can duplicate the problem--i just want to make sure the whole problem is solved, not just some instances--like instead of muting the first 4 bars, if u set them to a different rhythm that has no rhythm loaded, or one that is silenced, or one that has been reset(any instance where nothing is playing) then the preview has problems as well--and many other instances also--so maybe it's not exactly a mute problem? (i can provide more specific info on other instances if u would like) |

| ok--check this out--i just tried the following: if u don't mute anything, and u set the fifth bar as an intro (with the first 4 bars playing normally), then the fill preview doesn't work right from bars 16-19--other bars seem to work fine (in the preview, u have to let it play the fill twice, because in this instance, the first time around doesn't sound so bad, but when it plays it again and again it's messed up--you'll see what i'm talking about)--if u set bar 5 to a fill instead of an intro, the problem seems to go away |

i tried the new dll--the mute problem is fixed, like u said--however, please try the following things and see what happens:
1. Open the arranger, load "back and forth" into rhythm 0, set bar 5 as an intro, and then preview a fill on bar 17 (or any bar from 16-19)--then switch bar 5 from an intro to a fill, and preview a fill on bar 17 again (when bar 5 is a fill, bar 17 preview should work well, but when it's a n intro, it should be messed up--and let the preview play the fill twice, meaning don't press the preview button twice, rather press the preview button once and let it play--when it's working correctly, it plays the fill correctly over and over, but in this case it should get messed up very soon) Note:this also occurs when an intro is set at bar 4, in which case it affects bars 15-18 instead--but it seems that if the intro is placed anywhere else, it does not affect any other bar
2. Set the first 4 bars to rhythm 1 , with no rhythm loaded in rhythm 1 (so it should be silent), and then preview the fill "down the drain" on any bar in rhythm 0--it should be slightly messed up--if u don't see the difference, set the first four bars back to rhythm 0, and try the fill preview again, and u should hear a difference (this should work with any fill, but since in this instance the fill is only slightly messed up, it's hard to hear on some of them)
let me know what happens-- |

Tried both ways and I can't duplicate the problem. What is your ASIO driver and latency? _________________ Ralph Zeuner
