Hi-
When I have audioM8 in a project, even if it's output is muted, SONAR's audio engine drops out after several seconds, with a loud burst of distorted sound. The only way to fix it is to remove audioM8 from the project completely.
I'm wondering if anyone else is using audioM8 successfully with SONAR 8.3.1. JS works fine with Jam with MIDI. I'm not having problems with any other plug-ins.
Thank you-
-Susan

I can't duplicate this with Sonar 8 here. Could you email me a simple S8 project that does this? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph-
I'll try to pare the project down next chance. If it's working for you then it might just be an interaction with another plug-in. Are you testing with audio tracks only, or do you have softsynths in the project too? I can try freezing everything.
Thanks-

But what's the audio source? Don't you have to have some audio driving the audioM8? Maybe I don't understand how it works...
I put it in the FX bin of a bus, then send audio from other tracks to it. Is that not the right way to use it? It seems to work correctly until the buzz and dropout.
Thanks-

If you send me the project, I'll use a real-time audio source here on the audio track and/or a wave file. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ok, I'll do that next time I'm at my DAW. What do you need then, just the empty track setup? I'm using KontaktPlayer3 with GPO, Trilogy, 2 Superior Drummer instances, and some FX plug-ins.
I'll see if freezing or eliminating one or more of those helps before I send it.
Thanks-

Hi Ralph-
I sent you a stripped-down version of the .cwp with only JS left in the Synth Rack. Please let me know if you need any further info.
Thanks-

Hey Susan -- This is Bob the bbdude from the Sonar Forum. Did you get an answer to this? I too am interested in using audioM8 with Sonar 8.3.1.
I just purchased jamstix2 and I have just barely scrathed the surface, so I have a lot of homework to do yet, but I was really hoping there might be a tutorial available for the use of audioM8. I have been looking at the benvesco.com tutorial, but this tutorial does not deal with jam-along with existing audio capability that lured me into the purchase of jamstix in the first place.
Anyone know of any tutorials using audioM8?
Also, I was wondering, can I use audioM8 / jamstix with a song not recorded to a click track (ie a slightly wandering tempo and meaures not aligned to the Sonar ruler)? |

Hi Bob-
Ralph wasn't able to repro the problem, and basically I gave up, since it's not that big a deal for me to use either MIDI input or just adjust the song Power myself using an envelope.
All I did (and it should work for you) was add a Bus with audioM8 in the FX bin, then I added sends to that bus on my audio tracks. audioM8 got the signal, and it worked fine when it did (JS set to "Jam with Audio") but in my case the audio engine kept dropping out with a loud buzz.
Hope you fare better!

Jamstix is always synched to the host. You'd have to adjust the tempo track to match your recorded track using tempo extraction etc. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
