I have just finished an album of what I describe as melodic funky jazz. It is soon to be available net wide via CD Baby et al. All drums & percussion courtesy of Jamstix2.
I still can't believe how real the drums sound and feel. I could have sworn I heard a dropped stick at one point, but there was no associated cursing from the drum booth!
Many thanks to Ralph and all at Rayzoon, it would have taken an awful lot longer, and not been as realistic, without Jamstix.
If you've got time, please have a listen it's at http://www.last.fm/music/steve+laming 9 tracks in total. Sorry if you're outside of the UK, USA & Germany and can't access last.fm. My All About Jazz page has a track to download http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/musician.php?id=18316 . If you can't access last.fm and want to hear more, send me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

Really well done- one of the best uses of Jamstix I've heard. I can see you've really mastered JS, sounds totally convincing! _________________ Win7 RC, Core 2 Quad Q6600, Sonar 8, Superior 2 |

Thanks for the kind words.
To be honest, I let Jamstix drive mostly. I set the time sig, selected the basic jam style and drummer (maybe changed my mind a few times until it was close). Set up the arrangement and fills, automated the volume within the sequencer, edited a few bass drum patterns to match the bass guitar riffs (occasionally visa versa if JS had a better groove) and that was it.
One track had more extensive editing, but even that was just setting the initial groove, so not really editing.
I am not a drummer, but I knew what I wanted and Jamstix was so close most of the time it was easy just to fiddle with a few bits and get it how I wanted it.
It would definitely be one of my desert island pieces of software!
