|
|
I am trying to run Jamstix 2 under Wine on a linux system. Here is what I have done so far........
Installed original Jamstix 2 VST...
Installed Jamstix 2.5.1 update..
On both of these the GUI screens locked to the mouse pointer, which turns into like a 4 pointed arrow in a cross shape. Had to shut down JS to stop it. It is running on a touchscreen and when using a finger or pointer it does not seem to do it as much.
Loaded the basic kit after struggling with the above. It said installed but when I tried to run JS again I got the message that he data fodler had moved/needed to instal the update. So I re-installed the 2.5.1 update whihc got rid of that message.
Went back into the kits tried to load the basic kit, no instruments loaded!!!
Okay thought it may have been because it was an older kit so I forgot that and tried to instal the new XL kits (parts 1 2 and 3)
Went to the first one, system said installed, tried to load part 2, it froze saying it could not open the part 2 folder??? Okay..Closed the program again, re-opened and it allowed me to then load in part 2, system said it had been loaded, but then it did the same in trying to load part 3. Okay, closed and opened JS again, it then allowed me to install Pak 3.
But then when I tried to load a kit, not sounds appeared, and no instruments either (by instruments I mean kicks , snares etc etc).
The opening screen with teh preset songs etc then popped open again, and again locked to the mouse pointer dragging it all over the screen. Had to shut the program.
errrr HELP???!!
I did load the BlockMouseMove=1 to the ini file as well. But made no difference.
Thanks in advance if anyone has ANY idea what is going on here.

Please send me the file jamstix2.ini for review.
Concerning the kits: did you install the stock kit RXP2 file? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph,
Do you want me to post the ini in a message here or send via email? As for the kits, I installed (in-between closing and opening JS) JS2 stock_kit.rxp2, and xlpak 1 2 3...Well at least the program told me it was installed.
Also, sorry for the late reply, but you may not have realised I am in Australia, so at the moment it is 7.30 AM...
Dennis
LATE PS: I just sent the above ini files plus screenshots to your support email. |

Turned out to be not so much a major issue with JS, but a major issue with the user!! Didn't click the boxes on the left hand side in the kits dialogue, and I out the .ini line on the wrong .ini file..
Ralph got me sorted though. So thanks to him.
