| I'm sure this is a yes or no ques... when using JS2 is there a way to adjust the tempo other than 1/2 time and double time? there is no "knob" that can control the tempo... right? 4/4 or 3/4 is fine but the tempo is always the same. |

Hi jeff
If you mean the tempo of the whole song, that needs to be adjusted in the host sequencer.
I might be misunderstanding your question? _________________ john-studio64

thanks for the reply, I may not be explaining this properly so for that I apologize. I have JS2 and use Cubase Essential 4 as my host I guess... for now I use the JS2 to lay down a simple beat to work off of. as an example, If I choose lets say Samba and Charlie drummer it will play the song in pretty standard 4/4 however it plays the same tempo throughout. I understand that I can move the slider to make him play a little behind or ahead of the beat but that does not cause a dramatic change in tempo (Really slow it down or speed up)... what I am looking for is probably not possible... bear in mind I am quite a novice at this.
Are you saying there is something within Cubase that would adjust the tempo in JS2? thanks again. |

Hi jeff
I am a little confused, do you mean the complexity of the drum pattern does not change?
The tempo usually means the speed of the song, ie 70 bpm etc.
Choose a different drummer, Charlie was never one for much variation, just a reliable steady beat.

Yes I mean the speed of the song not complexity... Charlie was just an ex. however I do use him here and there. I tend to merge styles of music that generally change tempos (not signatures) many times within a song, i.e. Mr. Bungle, Dillenger Escape, Zappa'ish styles. Even if I was using Charlie playing a standard Rock beat then switched to Danny lets say, the style and or complexity changes but the overall tempo remains the same for the most part. I am looking for significant tempo swings. Again, I do not think this is possible however a Tempo knob that can speed up even the simplest Blues beat to super quick or Very slow would be cool in my opinion. |

again, I am aware there is an option in one of the drop downs to increase the speed however that goes from zero to sixty with nothing in between Plus if I am not mistaked that will affect the speed of the Entire song not just a bar or two.
(I forgot the name of the option in the drop down as I am not at my home pc.) |

Hi jeff
The tempo and time signature changes must be carried out in the sequencer. Then allow Time Sig. changes in JS2 options
What sequencer are you using?

Cubase has a tempo track where you can issue tempo changes. Jamstix will automatically follow those. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
