Melodyne doesn't recognize Jamstix as a VSTi. It may be related to the demo banner, not sure? This one is fairly important (to me at least), since Melodyne is my primary means of converting audio into midi for subsequent triggering of Jamstix. It would be best to do all of that process in Melodyne as opposed to bouncing out to another soft.

Melodyne is stable software (and it should be for the price) so I imagine JS will work fine once MD can recognize it. Here's a link to them if you need the demo (it's mostly unrestricted except saves and trackbounces):

BTW - check out the News link and see some of the names using this soft...

Yes, I love Melodyne but never tried Jamstix with it. We'll put that on the list.

I just checked the problem with Melodyne not seeing Jamstix. Seems to me that Melodyne only supports VST plugins, not VST instruments. I let it loose on all kinds of VSTi and it wouldn't register any one of them.

Sorry but this seems to be a Melodyne restriction Sad

Are you on 2.606 Studio Edition? It definitely supports VSTi's. All of mine (Fruity, B4, Superior, SFZ) register and work as expected except Jamstix.

Now I'm on an older demo version. Just got the 2.6.0.6 demo and Jamstix does register in the plugin preferences. How do you use a VSTi in Melodyne?

Okay, I figured it out. Melodyne cannot handle the fact that Jamstix has an audio input. All the VSTi that you mentioned have no audio input. As soon as I registered a modified version of Jamstix with the audio input removed, Jamstix was able to insert it into an instrument track.

To make matters worse, Melodyne does not send positional information (bar, ppq etc.) so a VSTi cannot sync itself to Melodyne's transport.

Looks like Celemony needs to add these features to Melodyne...

Thanks for looking at it. I can just bounce the midi out of Melodyne and use it in another app to trigger JamStix when needed.

It seems that as good as Melodyne is at doing pitch and time axis corrections, it's equally bad at everything else...

If it wasn't for the missing positional info, we'd give you a second version of Jamstix without audio-in. If Celemony puts that in one day, let us know and we'll supply the modified Jamstix DLL.

Any chance I could get one to play with? Melodyne has settings for MMC and MTC that might work? Or is that different?

MTC and MMC won't work. You need VSTi timeinfo data.

Check your mail in ten minutes or so...

Ralph, I too would like to see about using JS within Melodyne. I have the Full Studio Version & I'd like to try the 2nd copy without the Audio if you'd be so kind..... I will also be speaking to Melodyne about the deficiency concerning the Time/Info.... I agree with the other member about paying a very large amount for a Program to be so short on details such as this!!! Thanx NC Wildman

This version of Jamstix has no audio inputs for testing with Melodyne:
