I tried looking at the Benvesco Tutorial, the manual, etc...But I have no idea where to find a simple explanation on how to make a simple kick snare groove and let JS improvise off of it. I looked at the Bar editor but there is no Kick sounds that come up when you click in that little square (which I guess there are 4 beats for each bar). Can anyone explain this process in plain english or is this even possible? Basically, say I wanted to input my own kick/snare pattern and let a JS Drummer improv off of it.

I have the demo version only right now and still evaluating it in Reaper.

How can I find out all the sounds that JS has (Basic and XL versions). For example, let's say I wanted to start off an intro with Drumsticks (you know sticks bangin against each other - 1,2,3,4 sort of thing - does JS even have a Sticks Sound or Hit?)

Also, let's say the main bars have Unison Kick/Tom hits or Unison Snare/Tom Hits or even Unison Kick/Snare Hits? Is this possible to achieve in JS? And by unison, yes I do mean the snare and kick hitting at the same time, more or less. How can I input this information as well and let JS jam off of it?

I've tried searching the forums, but I haven't found anything useful.

Thanks dudes

- start with a part with its style and drummer set to 'Silent'
- in the bar editor click on the desired kick cell under RF and snare cells under LH and select the kick (or snare) sound from the sound list that opens when you click on a cell.
- you can use the looped-arrow symbol next to the bar editor to preview your groove
- when your pattern is done use 'Save Bar' in the bar editor menu and save your creation.
- now pick a style for the part that you like, let's say '8th rock'.
- use the 'Add' function in the brain menu to add a 'groove importer'
- in the groove importer choose 'JS2' format and select the pattern you saved before
- disable the kick and snare of the style by clicking on 'Kick' and 'Snare' labels in the brain.
- click COMP and check it out.

You now have a combination of your K/S pattern and the hihat and accents and fills of the style. Choose a drummer to finish it off.

All Jamstix 2 versions come with a drumstick sound but there is no sound slot for it. Just use a percussion slot like 'Jam Hi' for it and the place the desired notes on a percussion limb in the bar editor.

Same as above. Hand-edit the desired pattern and then 'groove import' it into the desired style.
