If you are interested in helping us test the next update, please go to your personal download page and download this release candidate.

Changes From 2.5.1 Beta 5

  • improved MIDI import in EZX Percussion mode
  • fixed incorrect bongo/conga mapping in 'Map GM' mode
  • fixed MIDI export and drag-&-drop always using channel 1
  • kit editor sound edit groupings are now remembered for the duration of the session

Changes From 2.5.1 Beta 2

  • fixed freezing when right-clicking on brain controls to assign MIDI controller

Changes From 2.5.1 Beta 1

  • improved fill focus behavior with snare or tom knob at zero
  • removed debug message on certain host data loads in last Beta

Changes From 2.5.0

  • fixed problems when trying to preview drum kits with a Jamcussion kit already being loaded
  • fixed MIDI LEARN mode not writing to selected brain (drums or percussion)
  • MIDI LEARN now works in bar preview mode as well
  • fixed 'No 16th Shuffling' fill option not saving correctly to project file
  • fixed internal sounds not playing under certain circumstances
  • fixed a bug causing data not to be saved to the host anymore after composing fill with either snare or tom focus being zero
  • all actions that lead to a skipped event now display the reason in the status bar when the mouse is moved over the event in the bar editor
  • double-clicking on empty cell in the bar editor now adds the most common sound for the limb
  • double-clicking on used cell in the bar editor now removes the event
  • added 'Start Crash' option to the fill controls to add a crash cymbal on the last heavy tick before the fill
  • added ini option 'REAPERBypass' to suppress any data save to REAPER unless the CTRL key is depressed. This should only be used if a user is annoyed by delays caused when REAPER continually asks Jamstix for the save data

SWEET! Never seen a FR implemented so quickly. Can't wait to try this out tonight. Jamstix ROCKS (as does Ralph)!

I like this, too, but I have a question. Say I change the instrument for R1 from Perc 1 to Perc 3 using the Brain Controls. Then I'd expect a double-click to enter a Perc 3 sound.

The first time you double-click on a limb, it will assign the most common sound. If you change the sound for an event on a limb then the next double-click will use that last sound.

The update hasn't cured my Reaper problems unfortunately. How and when should I use the,"Ctrl Key" option?
I'm still getting long delays when exiting JS in Reaper.I can stop these in the Preferences/VST/ Save full VST plug-in state if supported option. However if I do this then JS doesn't save it's last changed settings and Repear doesn't save the updated song data.I have to re-enable this to save :/

You need to add this line somewhere in the [General] section of the jamstix2.ini file:

REAPERBypass=1

this will cause Jamstix to only send data to REAPER in response to its requests when the CTRL key is depressed.

Just been trying it.Doesn't do anything at the moment.Tried the line in a couple of places in the .ini file.

Removed and re-installed JS in Reaper as well just in case :/

Have posted on the Reaper forum as well to try and get a short-cut to toggle the VST state option on and off in the Reaper VST section.

Hi Ralph,

Very Happy GREAT, the double-clicking-functions are making the workflow much easier and faster!
Thank you for this Update!

For me I would like to see one more optimation in the workflow:
When I`m working in the bar-editor with different velocity-levels of the same instrument, for example HiHat, it is a bit difficult to do that. I would like to see either the velocity-fader closer to the bar-editor or, genial would be a way with holding a shortcut while using the cursor up- and down-keys to change the velocity level.

If this or a similar function would come in a further update I would be glad!

Best wishes
Carl Matthias

Hold down the right-mouse button over a note and then slide up and down to change the velocity without having to use the slider.

Sheppol, I just sent you a fixed ini file. You had put the REAPERBypass line in the wrong place; it must be in the [General] section.

Hi Ralph,

This feature is working wonderful Razz ! Very fast and easy!
I did not know this function. In the german manual for Jamstix2
was no hint about this great possibility to speed up the workflow.

Thanks a lot

Wow, this is a great tip!

Maybe there could be a Tip Of The Day thread?

I've posted elsewhere and the new Ctrl option works well in Reaper.
Thanks again Ralph Smile Smile
