I just purchased Jamstix about an hour ago and I've been messing around with it in Live 4.1 with Sonik Synth 2. It works great with the internal drum sounds, but when I try to use the Sonik Synth 2 dll to play a GM drum kit, it sounds very metallic, tiny and extremely distorted. I see the proper notes being 'played' on the on-screen piano in Sonik Synth 2 so I know it's sending the correct MIDI notes. Any ideas? Also, is it possible to just send the MIDI data to the instance of SS2 that is already loaded and used for playing the other instruments without loading another instance just for Jamstix?

Thanks,
Chisel

Hi Chisel, yes, you can direct the MIDI out stream from Jamstix to SS2 in the Live mixer. That way you do not have to load SS2 into Jamstix at all.

Thanks for the reply. I still can't figure out how to route Jamstix MIDI to SS2. My setup has 8 MIDI tracks, each routed to the MIDI track with SS2 on a corresponding part (MIDI Track 1 -> Part 1, etc...) and 8 audio tracks coming from each of the parts in SS2 (SS2 Part 1 -> Audio Track 1, etc...). I added a new MIDI track to host Jamstix and set the MIDI Channel out to 9 with a GM drum kit loaded into SS2 part 9, but I don't get any MIDI data coming into my SS2 MIDI track if I set the MIDI input on the SS2 track to the Jamstix MIDI track. Wow, is that confusing or what?

Thanks,
Chisel

You know, I can't figure out how to route a VSTi MIDI output to the input of another MIDI track in Live. Anyone know the answer??
