Hi-
Since the manual indicates these both respond primarily to the "averaged volume", is one preferred if both are available?
Also, I can just copy existing MIDI clips into the track that feeds JS2 and it will recompose, assuming it responds to the averaged cumulative velocity of all the clips (in SONAR 8.x), correct?
In a real life example, if I start with a MIDI track that had my original drums in it, JS will recompose based on that, but if I add, say a Bass or KB clip to that same track it will recompose based on all the MIDI info being fed into it?
Thanks!

IIRC, Jamstix won't recompose, at least not the Groove or Fill aspects, based on either MIDI or audio input. What it will do is adjust the Power level (which controls dynamics), and recompose Accent aspect in response to MIDI input, but not to audio IIRC.
So using MIDI input has the advantage that JS will compose accents to match the groove coming from your MIDI, whereas using audio input will have the advantage that the dynamics response to input will have a more natural feel, assuming of course that the audio is from a human-played instrument and the MIDI is not. _________________ Win7 RC, Core 2 Quad Q6600, Sonar 8, Superior 2 |

Hi dysfunction-
Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology. If I make changes in the Brain the bars are recomposed (or if I adjust the main Power Level).
The audio tracks are all recorded MIDI which I played in, so in that sense the Audio & MIDI is the same. The only exception are the Vocals. The main difference is how much data is being fed into JS. If I use MIDI it obviously doesn't receive the vocals, but using audioM8 I'm getting some errors.
Thanks for the reply!
