I know I can edit each instrument's midi channel in the instrument screen but all the instruments still come through the main midi channel 1. Is there something obvious I'm missing. I'm routing the Jamstix midi out to the midi input of my vsti...

Thanks

Record the output in your host and check the channel of the notes just to make sure what way the arrive in the host.

I've routed several instruments to midi channels 1 -4 and on each channel I've got Jamstix on the input and the output routed to VSTi (Superior Drummer). But each recorded channel has all the same instruments coming thru...
I'm wondering if anybody each has tried this with Superior Drummer...?

I've turned off/on midi only on the mixer as well but it's the same outcome....

?

Have you done the check I mentioned? Record the MIDI output from JS2 and then look at the data in the host MIDI editor. I bet you will see the correct MIDI channels assigned which means the problem is in how you route the data in your host to Superior.

Now I see what you mean. All the instruments do appear in all the tracks. But the individual notes are assigned to the midi channels I selected in Jamstix. So I guess I've got to work out how to separate these notes in Cubase SX3. If anyone out there has any suggestions how to rectify this...?

Thanks again Ralph...

By the way it's not Superior that I intend to use as the VSTi...
