Very nice. Really makes the BonzoPak shine, IMHO. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Just been listening.Great playing and great voice.I think you over-recorded a little though.I can hear some distortion in the mix.For my tastes the drums, although a great sound, sound a little as if the mix is in a rehearsal room with the verb and ambience.
Is this an original song? |

Thanks for the feedback,.. always looking to improve on a mix. At first I thought the same thing about the drums, but I guess I just got used to a more "live" sound, and I started to enjoy it. You're correct about the distortion. I think it's on the clean guitar, I have to check it later. The sm58 used to mic the right side of the amp is a little too hot I think. I might be stuck with it though. I don't think I am going to go back to re-play those parts. Lesson learned though, thanks! |

Are you using PC recording software? It may not be the recording.

Thanks! I give it up mostly for the guitar (PRS). The amp is really nothing special, but it gets the job done apparently. |

Yes. Sonar. I can try to get some of that noise out with a plug, but I have to be careful to not trash the tone. I don't typically have issues with noise in sonar.. so am thinking it's the hot input. |

This is what I thought. It took me quite a while to get used to the fact that recording in digital is not the same as tape and having the gains too high when recording and when mixing isn't needed. It causes the overall sound to degrade.
I'm still learning after 20 years of recording on and off.
These to sites are now my,"Bible" sites,

And this thread on my,"Reaper" forum is to,"Die for" reading by a top engineer,

Ignore the tittle of the thread in your case as yours are pretty good IMHO and it's the bloke's choice of tittle, not mine. |
