We did notice how some people load the demo, hit 'Free Jam' and 'Play' and immediately judge JS by the results without digging any deeper.
The whole manual/arranger aspect of JS is sometimes short-changed but there's only so much info people can digest at a glance... |
I sometimes take Midi Song files from the net and load them into my Sequencer when I'm learning new software. Maybe we could have a place where song files using the JS demo in various hosts could be posted.
After they install the demo they load a Cubase "Song.cpr" or a Samplitude "Song.vip" etc. JS would be ready to drum and they could use whatever they want for other sounds.
This would take people a little deeper into what JS can do - and it would solve most of the "I can't get it to work in my sequencer" complaints.
Someone once said that the guitar is one of the easiest instruments to play, but one of the hardest to master.
Basic JS use is pretty easy and can produce good results. Advanced JS use takes a little more time, because the program is much deeper than it first appears, but the results are well worth the extra effort.
Maybe this way, we as users could take some of the load off Ralph so that he can keep the new stuff coming.
