Recently I bought a new computer and now I'm able to realize again how fantastic Jamstix2 is.
Just a small question regarding the "timing parameter" that let Jamstix2 play up to 50ms ahead or behind the beat.
Is it possible to adjust the max value via ini file or something like that?
The reason I ask is the following:
In some situations I let Jamstix play behind the beat not only for groove enhancement but to let more room for little timing variations of other instruments on the "1" of a part in Cubase4. I found it to be more natural if not all instruments sit mathematically exact on the "1". However, if there is the beginning of a part in Cubase and a note is played a bit too early it is of course overlapped with the previous part. I could paste this parts or insert a small sample delay to the drums to avoid this behavior.
It is not a problem of Jamstix (more a problem of the workflow in Cubase) but probably could be solved with the Jamstix timing parameter.
Thanks again for this fine piece of software and keep up the good work.
Regards

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Do you need to control timing dynamically through the song so it is tight in the beginning of a part but then immediately loosens to your desired laid-back timing? If so, I'd use VST automation on the Timing parameter in Cubase. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hello Ralph, thanks for quick response;
I don't need to control the timing dynamically but there may be situations where 50ms are not enough. In such a case it would be good if I could increase the max value to 100ms or 120ms for instance.

Thanks; it is far from maximum priority but would make things easier in some cases.
