I'm not sure why but it's playing it's groove but also showing up on every midi track and ruining every recording on those tracks. How do i isolate so it will stay on it's own track?
also, How to 'record' JS in cakewalk?
Thank you. |

You can control the MIDI recording in Cakewalk by selecting the proper MIDI input for each track. If you have 'Omni' then Cakewalk will record the data from all inputs (including JS2 MIDI output). Set it to your MIDI keyboard to filter out all other sources.
When you say 'record JS2 in Cakewalk', do you mean the audio data? You can do that via 'bounce' or 'freeze' in Sonar. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

No, i don't think it's Cakewalk because i did check all you suggested. I think it has to do with the Midi mapper in jamstix. i need to figure that out.
Thank you. |

Let's recap. You're saying that when you arm a non-Jamstix MIDI track for recording, MIDI data from Jamstix ends up on that track. If so, then the problem must be the MIDI input filter selection on the Cakewalk track.
There is no MIDI mapping function in Jamstix that can affect this. Jamstix simply sends its MIDI data to the host. It is the host that then decides to do something with it or not.
Do you have any kind of MIDI loopback driver installed? That could explain MIDI data merge on the OS side. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yes, Ralph, that is the scenario.
I have fooled with all the possible input/output options in Cakewalk...but i don't know anything about a 'loopback' driver. Would there be some troubleshooting about this in the manual?
Thanks. |

You would have had to install a loopback driver yourself. I recommend getting help in the Sonar forum. This is not a Jamstix issue as plugins can only send MIDI data to the host. What gets recorded in a host track is completely up to the host. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

You are correct,Ralph. It was in Cakewalk. i had to reconfigure the midi soft synth set up. Fortunately it was very easy.
Thank you!!! |
