I installed the Jamstix demo in Cubase VST 5.1 r1 and I can't figure out how to load Jamstix to activate when playing a VST instrument (Mr Ray e piano). Does Jamstix work with Cubase VST 5? The help files seem to address only Cubase SX. Can you instruct me on how to get Jamstix to work with Cubase 5?
Thanks |

We highly recommend Cubase SX2 and up. We don't have any test experience with VST 5.1 and we're not sure it supports the VST 2.3 standard which Jamstix uses.
Is anyone using Jamstix with VST 5.1 and can jump in here? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Let me fill in some details to see if maybe I'm not uderstanding the correct way to load Jamstix.
I load an instrument (e piano) into midi channel 1 in Cubase 5.1 and it's out put to channel 1. I load Jamstix in channel 2 and it's output to channel 2. When I have track 1 highlighted, I can hear my e piano.
When I highlight channel 2, click Free Jam and play my keyboard, I hear nothing but Jamstix Bar Print and Velocity slider react to my keyboard input.
When I select Manual Jam and Play Input, I hear the drum sounds when playing the keyboard. When I start the transport play on Cubase, the drum rhythms play but do not seem to react to my keyboard other than playing additional drum sounds that the keyboard triggers. There must be something not routed right.
I've tried setting the channel on the Sounds panel under the Mapping tab to other numbers, but there is no change.
It seems that I am so close to geting Jamstix to work. I'm getting sounds out of Jamstix and midi input into Jamstix, but not together. It must be something simple in the routing that I'm missing. If I knew how SX loads instruments, maybe I'd understand how it translates to VST 5. I'm not a highly advanced Cubase user, but I'm not a newbie either. I certainly will buy Jamstix if we can get it to work.
Thanks again |

You need to find a way to route MIDI input to two MIDI tracks simultaneously. In SX you do this by enabling 'Monitoring' on both MIDI tracks. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
