Hello,
I just started using Jamstix 2.1 and I’m getting no sounds or only partial sound from many of the kits that I think are supposed to be working. I’m not referring to the “XL” kits, because I do not have those yet, I’m only trying to use the kits that are not XL. The sounds on the kit page appear to be loaded, but they just won’t play/sound. I right clicked on a drum picture and tried to re-load a sound that way, but the problem remains (it says the sound is there, but I can’t hear it. I installed the latest update, but the problem remains. I moved all the Jamstix 1 kits into the "sounds" folder for Jamstix 2 and reinstalled the Jamstix 2 kit, but the problem remains. While having the Funk Kit open in the “kits page” I reinstalled JS 1 kits part 1, and that kit started working. I switched kits, then switched back to “Funk Kit” and it no longer worked.

Kits that appear to be working (I can hear and play the sounds that say they are loaded):
Jamstix 2 Standard Kit: 222MB
Jamstix 2 Dry Kit: 158MB
Jamstix 2 Hard Kit: 211MB
Jamstix 2 Big Kit: 222MB, 3 sounds missing, but otherwise seems to work

Problem kits (the sounds appear to be loaded, but I cannot hear/play them):
Jamstix 2 Fat Kit: 222MB, No Sounds for: Bass, Toms, Cymbals, Hi Hats
Jamstix 2 Lo-fi Kit: 222MB, Snare only, No Sounds for anything else
Jamstix 2 Metal Kit: 211MB, Bass drum only, No Sounds for anything else
Jamstix 2 Funk Kit: 221MB, Bass drum only, No Sounds for anything else

I’m assuming that these kits should all be working the same way. Is there something that I should be looking at/adjusting? Is there a special order in which you have to install the updates and the kits? Do the kit “install files” need to be in any particular directory before you install them?

Thank you for any help

Hi skogzort

I'm sure the "problem" kits, are the kits which have multi outputs.

You need to activate more outputs for JS in your for sequencer.

I hope this helps

regards

John is right. The kits you mentioned are multi output kits so you must set your host to support all audio outputs of JS2.

The 3 missing sounds in the big kit will be fixed in the next update.

Thank you for the quick reply – That fixed it – I’m using Sonar and I had to switch from the default of “enable the first out of the softsynth” to “enable all outputs of the softsynth”.
