|
|
I've finished learning everything I can about how to create and manage midi note maps in all my edrum related hardware and software. I even found a free VST that is just for remapping notes:
https://www.codefn42.com/notemapper/index.html
I was thinking about standardizing on Roland vdrums mappings with the hope that any drum sample VST might include a Roland map. I'm now thinking that Roland's map is perhaps an outlier and that I'm better off sticking with something as close to general midi as possible.
If anyone here has an edrum kit please comment on what your note mapping strategy is. I know this forum where we have great AI doing the drumming for us isn't the best place to ask this question but I figured I would ask here in addition to vdrums.com and on the Megadrum forum.

As a_azimuth commented, each person uses each module slightly differently and you just have to document what you did so when troubleshooting a year from now you don't have to relearn it.
I got all my VST's working yesterday. |

A little bit of documentation work now will save you so many headaches later on if issues arise, as you stated. |
