I just bought Jamstix 2. While I have Pro Tools 8 (RTA) and Cubase (which is VST, but I find myself not all that comfortable with its workflow), I'd really like to use Jamstix in conjunction with Reason. Is there a way of doing this? What do you recommend?
Thanks. |

Hi ranke_lidyek
Welcome to the forum first of all.As Jamstix is vst you'll need to use Reason rewire as you know,so where you have Reason coming into either Pro Tools or Cubase put the audio m8 on that input so Jamstix can recognise a signal, and use the trim (top right corner in Jamstix) to adjust the volume input so Jamstix can go to power mode.I'm not sure how Redrum could be used,I suppose it could be used like a drum machine, and the Jamstix midi out utilized, and then use Jamstix's drummer brain.I haven't tried on my Reason 4,I just use Thor, but it's got me thinking I hope! _________________ EMU 1820M user |

Thanks. I appreciate it. Can't wait to give it a try. So, I guess in this case Reason would be the "master" and Jamstix the slave?
I'd think you could sort of use Redrum or other sounds in conjunction by pasting the MIDI map into Reason, but I can't say for sure.
Thanks again! |
