I know I can set the meter for a pattern, and that's great, but my music tends to have quite a few turnarounds. For example... 4 bars of 4-4, a bar of 2, and then 4 bars of 4-4. The only way I can see to do this would be to have 3 different patterns. This can get confusing as they are all really part of a "Verse". Is there any way to change the meter for one bar only inside a pattern in JS2?

Thanks.

Mance

No (as far as I know). I have used different meters in pieces in the past, and have always had to make the new meter a new pattern. I lable mine thus, '1st verse A, 1st verse B, etc. Not quite as confusing, and it makes it easy to copy and paste to other verses. Some on the forum may have a better solution.

I have not tried this, but i thought that jamstix simply follows the host, so that wherever you have set up in the host that a meter is 4/4, it plays in 4/4, and measures set up for 2/4 or 3/4 will play back as such. (Like in Cubase, you have atempo track, which you can set up to your liking.) If this is the case, you should be able to set up an 8 bar pattern in your host, and then in jamstix this can all be part of one verse. Again, i have not actually tried this, so i might be wrong.

Changing time signatures during a song requires:

a) Enable 'Allow Time Sig Change' in JS2 'Options'.

b) Time sig changes in the host must occur on JS2 part changes. Each part must have the correct time sig set (click on length or reps to edit)

This is all necessary because of the insufficient song position info specified by the VST interface for songs with sig changes.
