|
|
I'm using Jamstix 2 with Tracktion 3. I'm just now diving into the building of drum tracks, mostly from a manually created pattern at this point, and something is happening that is confusing me.
If I set a part to be xx bars and xx reps, it will some times add the bars (the orange and green squares) in the display and sometimes not. For example if I set to 1 bar 8 reps, it will add only 7 squares to the display; I can hit play and watch as the bars fill in with data but the 8th does not appear although I can hear it being composed\playing back. Sometimes I can switch to the fill or accent page and back and the eighth bar will magically appear, sometimes it doesn't until I press play in Tracktion. If I add a subsequent 'part', the missing eighth bar will usually show up.
Sometimes I will go back and some have disappeared again although I may be misunderstanding what is displayed when on different pages..ie when on the FILL page should all the bars still be present in the display...sometimes there will only be 1 showing and other times, they are all there but empty -understandable since there are no fills in most of them, but should they all be displayed at least as 'placeholders'?
The randomness of it makes me think it is a 'glitch' rather than user error but is there something I have to do to refresh the display?
I'm having some other learning curve issues, but they are exacerbated by not being 100% sure what I am seeing.
Thanks. |

| I noticed the same type of behavior and I was wondering the same thing. I would like to know the answer to this too. Thanks. |

Unfortunately, I can't duplicate this here. Please tell me your Jamstix 2 version and could you give me a step-by-step to reproduce the problem? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I don't want to seem like I am hijacking the thread but here is a quick way to reproduce the problem. I am using Reaper 2.3 and Jamstix 2.2.2 Beta 9.
- Start Reaper, New project, insert track, add Jamstix to FX.
- Quickstart Jam Session Rock and change the number of bars in the Jam Session to 2 and the Reps to 4. Leave the Intro unchanged at 2 bars 1 reps.
- At this point I can see 8 bars instead of 10.
- Change the drummer, load for example Jason - then I can see all 10 bars.
- Change drummer again, load Machine - then the number of bars changed to 9.
I should mention that even though the number of displayed bars changes, the number of bars that Jamstix plays is always 10 in this example. I mean I can hear all 10 bars even though nothing is displayed.
Same thing happens if you change the style. |

Great step-by-step! Was able to duplicate and this will be fixed in the next Beta. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

awesome ralph! thanks to high hopes for doing the leg-work on this!
I'm going to assume for now that the beta will fix me up too, unless you need a step by step for Tracktion also? |

Just wanted to confirm that the problem is indeed fixed for me. Thank you for that, Ralph!
I got a lot further last night than ever before now that I know I'm not missing something crucial...
Thanks again. |
