I am 90% sure this was possible with JS1.
I can't seem to find the option in JS2. Is it possible? Or do I need to record it into my host? |

I've only had it a few days, but it's possible to drag'n'drop midi from various levels: song, part or bar. Just select one of the above from the main view and drag over to a track.
Unless there's something more meant by export to midi... |

Just to expand on this:
Exporting a bar: drag the bar from the timeline to the host or explorer
Exporting a part: drag the part name from the song sheet to the host or explorer
Exporting a song: drag the label 'SONG' in the song sheet to the host or explorer _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I am using JS2 under EnergyXT2 under Wine (Mac). Dragging and dropping doesn't work. Not sure if this is an EXT or Wine problem. |

Can anyone think of a solution?
Did JS1 have an export to MIDI file option? |

JS1 has an export to file option. JS2 is drag&drop. I'll see about adding a file option in the next update. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Another option (not sure if your sequencer will support it though)
1. Setup a new midi track and arm it to record
2. Set Jamstix up as the input source, or set input source to omni.
3. Solo just jamstix.
4. Hit record and let the song play you should record the midi in its entirety for the song
In Sonar, you can actually arm the midi track that Jamstix is on and do this - at least you could wih JS1, haven't tried it with JS2, but should work.

Thanks Ralph for considering it. I notice EnergyXT2 is not fully supported so I'm going to try Ext1.4 to see if I get drag n drop functionality.
Brad, I think I have mentioned I am using JS2 under Wine in Mac OSX. However the method you suggest should work, I can playback MIDI from Logic Pro to a PC VSTi under Wine, but I couldnt get recording to work with JS2, possibly an error on my part though. |

I asked on another forum about exporting to MIDI but apparently its not possible with EXT2? Do I need the latest Beta? I am still demoing the product though.
If I can export to a MIDI file, it is a solution I can work with.
EDIT: Oh did you mean drag and drop?
I think it is a Wine issue because it also doesn;t work in EXT1.4. |
