Hi All
I am new here but bought JS2 a couple of months ago. I am a tad slow on electronic and plugin drums, i've always played with a breathing human drummer using SawStudio audio app (I know nothing about midi). I'm having lots of fun with JS and my question is...
I recorded a song in Traction3, 4/4 time 84 BPM click. When I insert JS into a track it starts to loose time about midway through a 4 min song. I printed out the manual and started reading through it this A.M. but am not sure where to refer to. Any ideas where my problem lies would be a great help.
Many thanks
J

That is quite odd. Jamstix always stays synched to the host. Please send me the file rzdlog.txt from your Jamstix 2 folder and let me know what sound card and driver you are using.

Thanks Ralph. I will send it tonight. I have tried it with my maudio Fast track pro USB, maudio FW1814 and Roland FA 101 all with the same problem. I tracked the song with a mackie onyx 1200F and have not had a chance to use it during playback to see if the same problem occurs. I am using the supplied asio drivers with each interface with a buffer of around 512/sometimes 1024. I have a feeling it is operator error Smile
Thanks again
J

You might want to make sure that you haven't accidentally added a tempo change in Tracktion.
If you are just playing back an audio track, you'd never notice the change, but anything, like the click or Jamstix, which is relying on Tracktion for timing info will fall out of sync.

Hi
Thanks. I am just learning how to use tracktion and made sure there is no tempo curve. I sent Ralph an email last night letting him know that I forgot that I didn't use the click but instead inserted a drum machine into the recording on another track. The drum machine was set to 84bpm and the software was set to 169bpm. I rendered the tracks and brought them back in and set it to 84 bpm and it was doing that. I'm sure that I am the culprit of this problem. I did check 3 other songs that are done the same way and the sync is perfect... now i'm just slightly confused:) I went through the same process of rendering and reimporting at the correct bpm with the other songs. Oh well Laughing
Thanks
J
