|
|
We are pleased to announce that Jamstix 2.2.0 is now available. This update provides new functionality, many enhancements as well as several bug fixes. All customers are encouraged to update to this new version via their personal download pages.
Here is a summary of all changes since 2.1.4:
- added 'LEARN" button to bar editor, which allows live translation of drum data received at the MIDI input into bar editor events
- the maximum number of parts has been raised from 18 to 72 and new arrow buttons have been added to the song sheet to scroll through them
- added new bar menu item 'Turn Groove Into A Style', which automates the steps normally needed to do this (saving bar, loading Import style, loading saved bar)
- added BFD2 kit
- added 'Options' menu to drum module mode with auto-bell (ride notes at full velocity are switched to ride bell) and auto-cymbal options (alternates Crash 1 notes among all available cymbals). These options are great for e-drum kits that have single-zone rides and a small number of cymbals pads.
- improved voice reduction logic
- added new quickstart songs for working with groove import, Jamstix Classic and full manual mode
- 'CORE BAR' display now shows bar number of corresponding core bar for non-core bars. The label can be clicked to jump to the core bar
- when moving the mouse over bars in the timeline, the status line now shows the name of the corresponding part and the bar position within it
- 'Redirection' now allows filtering by limb
- added "Add Classic Kick/Snare Controls" to the brain menu "Add" submenu, which allows the adding of the 'Jamstix Classic' kick and snare edit matrices to any style
- added compression attack and release control options to the mixer
- added 'Downmix' option to Mixer. If checked, all outputs are merged on output #1, effectively turning the outputs into busses.
- added 'Show Key Map' to kit menu, which outputs a tabbed text file with sound names, MIDI key and loaded sound
- Jamstix now reports pitch names to the host (for drum editors/MIDI editors etc.)
- added 'Overall' slider on top of accent brain page to attenuate or boost accent generation across the board.
- hihat pedal pressure via controller #4 is now included in MIDI drag-&-drop
- hihat pedal pressure via controller #4 is now always sent to MIDI output
- kit menu now offers options for small closed hihat openness fluctuations for better realism especially with high-end libraries
- bars can now be pasted multiple times at once
- you can now save multiple bars at once (marked by _B1,_B2 etc.). The Jamstix 2 mode of the groove importer auto-detects these and therefore allows multi-bar grooves
- MIDI import preview now stays synched to host if the host is running
- added 'Add Tambourine Over Snare' option to the 'Add' submenu of the brain menu. This adds tambourine hits on all groove snare hits
- improved behavior of certain complex fill constructs in shuffle mode
- added options to bar menu to load/save accents
- limb control system now properly considers sound substitutions
- improved limb routing logic of the MIDI import function
- 'Add Groove Importer' now includes 'Priority' slider to control the merging of the imported groove with the style
- MIDI remote control on the song power knob now uses a 127 range versus 117 (but minimum 10 is still enforced)
- modified feel settings, fill power profile, triplets abd other aspects of 'John' model
- added 'Velocity Scaling' to kit menu, which affects the way velocity layers are chosen and scaled.
- fixed MIDI import problems with certain files produced by Ableton Live
- fixed audio engine data multi-threading issue when loading a new sound while that sound is in use
- fixed hihat double strokes knob of the fill generator defaulting to tom double strokes value
- fixed 8th Shuffle button not properly restoring visually when used on a per-part basis
- fixed bug leading to crashes in Sonar when processing more than 250 MIDI events per audio buffer
- fixed bad data when sending MIDI controller data to host under certain circumstances that caused freezing in Sonar
- fixed several dialogs still dragging under WINE emulation
- moving the DMP knob on a sound to max no longer causes div by zero issues
- fixed a benign multi-threading issue with the status line updater under certain circumstances
- cymbal wash and other elements added via the tick menu now consider the auto locking event flag
- data folder locator now allows exiting the search
- updated audioM8 with improved multi-threading
- modified memory management to combat certain crashes in MTS
- MIDI "drag-&-drop to host" operations now initiate only if the cursor leaves the Jamstix 2 interface area

Whoah!!! How did I miss this from previous betas???
Can't wait to try this out when I get home.
There are so many grooves that are good except for the kick or snare placement.
This will be killer in reducing the amount of time to put a drum track together for me.
Awesome stuff Ralph.

He added a kit mapping for the default BFD2 kits so people don't have to map their own if they are using BFD2 with JS2.

It's the page where you downloaded your original Jamstix 2 from. It comes in the e-mail "Rayzoon Internet Delivery". _________________ Ralph Zeuner
