So, I know I've done my fair share of bitching, asking for a tons of features and changes, saying the samples aren't as good as the big boys', etc. But the impact Jamstix has had on my creativity, my workflow, and of course the end results, is huge. There was certainly a steep learning curve, but I'm confident I've got it figured out now. I'm working on a song with a couple friends. I put the drum track together in four days. It used to take me a month or more! And this is far better, more realistic and more intricately played than I could possibly have programmed myself. So Ralph, I want to thank you for this amazing piece of software. Even though I'll probably never use most of its sounds, it is way more than worth it for how the effect it has had on creativity and productivity.
We haven't finished recording the real instruments, but here's the drums with just a backing synth over them, using Jamstix 2 and Ezdrummer (snare) with Vintage Rock (crashes) and DFH (everything else) EZX expansions. Synth is the Roland GrooveSynth included in Sonar. Using Modern Metal and Custom Metal styles with Jason drumming, and small amounts of hand-editing in the bar editor and Sonar's piano roll.
