Hi,

I'm currently looking to buy new DAW software. So far I've only used mainly n-Track, but not with Jamstix as it tends to crash my machine, otherwise sometimes Jamstix in SAVIHost, and as I'm getting more into serious recording these days I've decided to buy some good recording software (along with a new 24 bit interface).

But the question is, which software to get? I like Jamstix a lot so was wondering which recording software seems to work best with it, which has the best stability and is less demanding on the CPU.

Would be interested in hearing people's recommendations.

Thanks

J.W.

I've been reading the n-Track thread - looks like Tracktion, Sonar and Cubase are likely contenders.

Please don“t forget REAPER - biggest bang or the buck IMO.

Ableton Live is a DAW that allows a ver spontaneous workflow. (http://www.ableton.com)[/url]

Thanks - I shall be downloading the demo versions of these and trying them all out.

Then I need to buy a decent 24 bit interface (USB 2.0 or Firewire) soon, but that's another kettle of fish...

Cheers

Jamstix2 - all the way up to the latest beta - is running great in Samplitude Pro.
It's also doing fine driving dfhSuperior with multi-channel output.

Lots of fun!

JS also works great in FL Studio. And +1 for Reaper.

I also own Adobe Audition 3.0, which introduces support for VSTi. I've gotten JS to work, however, I would not recommend Audition for major use at this point due to the limits of its VSTi / MIDI implementation.
