I have Sonar 7 demo and Jamstix2 xl with metal pak. If I choose drummer Silent, Charlie or Machine, everything is ok. But if I choose any other drummer, I can hear snare and kick only in fills, but in other bars they are missing. If I stop the song and put mouse cursor over the kick or snare event icon in bar editor, I hear the sound. If I use Reaper as a host everything is ok.

Thanks for this great product!

That is very odd. Please do this:

- load JS2 demo into Sonar 7 synth rack
- select quickstart song 'Jam Session (Rock)'
- open the song menu, select 'Load Drummer' and load 'Carter'
- get Sonar to play for 10 bars or so and see if the problem occurs
- close Sonar
- send me the file rzdlog.txt from the Jamstix2demo folder

Ralph sent me a modified dll file, which disables a specific element of reduction and now it works like a charm.

Great customer support.
Thanks

It looks like the problem is in the VST automation of 'Reduction'. Apparently, for some users/host it value defaults to a high value even though there is no automation sent. The result is constant low power behavior. We're working on a fix. A work-around for now is to send a 'Reduction' value of zero via VST automation at the start of the song.

I ran into the same issues with Sonar and JamStix. Installing the 2.2 beta 1 update fixed the dropped snare problem, but seems to have introduced some nasty instability in Sonar. On at least two occasions, while working with JamStix, Sonar has just completely dumped out with no crash log at all and no ability to save a version of the piece.

ancient: please uncheck 'Enable MIDI Output' in the 'Options' and see if it then runs stable for you in Sonar.

Actually, it's already on. My default settings for JamStix keep it active so I can use it to drive other drum samples.

Right, I actually meant UNcheck it. But you can just wait a few hours until we release Beta 2 which fixes the root cause.

Ah sorry, I misread that. However I did install 2.2 b3 with high hopes. Sadly, they didn't pan out. I'm still getting some very nasty crashes without any crash dumps when tweaking parameters in JamStix under Sonar.

Now I *do* have enable MIDI out active. I'll try turning that off (though that's an awfully painful feature to do without).
