Hi Guys,

Am I correct using jamstix and midi in this way. If I want jamstix to follow my piano track would I do this?

1. Create a copy of the piano track (as original is outputting to The Grand Vst, and I would loose the piano sound)
2. Paste copy of the piano track, and output the copy to JamStix.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm still new to Jamstix and loving it.

Thanks

Paul

What you describe is how I use JamStix most of the time.

So just do a melodic midi file and send it to JamStix, for most hosts that means placing JS as a VSTi on a track with this midi file.

And you're right, for most hosts you'll have the easiest time just copying this file so you can also still hear the piano during playback.

As of beta version X3-3, you simply click play and let your melodic midi file influence how JS plays it's drums. After you click stop, you can go to the Arranger tab in JS and then do Export Midi and save the just played drums to a midi file wherever you please.

Then you can edit this file if you wish or just use it "as is" and replace the melodic file on the track with JamStix, place JS in "Manual Jam" mode and then you should hear the drum midi file played thru JS.
