In Loving Memory:

On December 14, 2007 my old dog Duke became very sick and I had to put him to sleep. I cried for a week, and still do when I think about him. I wrote a poem titled “Dark December Day” that I read aloud at his burial. We buried Duke under the window of the girl’s room next to Mikey and Kitty Bob. Our youngest daughter's cat Mikey died while we were in Tucson in June. Kitty Bob was our other girl's cat and is why we started the “pet cemetery” over there by her tree swing. Anyway, I wrapped Duke in an old blanket, put the poem I’d written and his favorite tennis ball in the hole with him. I later put the poem to music. I used Jamstix2 for the drums. It is a long poem, so it’s a long song. I had no idea how much I would miss that old dog. If you are a dog lover or ever lost a dear pet, you know how I feel and will be able to relate to this song. In Loving Memory of Duke, Today, Saturday, January 5, 2008, the song about him will be featured on soundclick.com in the Country genre. Thanks for listening.

Dark December Day
