Jamstix 1.1 says it can handle time signature changes within a song. What does this mean? I was thinking that within the arranger - one could say a particular bar was 2/4 instead of the regular 4/4 ?? I scanned the manual and the help - and I didn't find anything.
This is something I am trying to do now. I have several 2/4 measures peppered throughout the song. So - for now I am just exporting the midi and making the correction in Sonar.
Thanks for all the support - and as usual - jamstix continues to amaze.

It means that you can change the time signature for specific bars in Sonar and Jamstix can now properly synch its arranger up to it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I tried this in Sonar - but it didn't synch up. I tried setting a bar in Sonar to 1/4 ... and everything else was 4/4. The music was off by a beat - and the measure was usually mismatched in Sonar and Jamstix after that part of the song
Is this a directixer required feature?

The only quirk with it is that you need to let the song run through once for Jamstix to pick up the sigs. That's because VST really doesn't support changing time sigs while maintaining the song position in bars. Jamstix is using a work-around that functions using an internal sig memory.
There may be an issue with hosts that do not send barstartpos information as specified in the VST spec. Cakewalk VST has that deficiency. I'll check that here but could you also send me your project file to support @rayzoon.com? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I checked this out and it does indeed not work with Cakewalk VST adapter. It works fine with DirectiXer. We'll see what we can do. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks for the help.
Do I get a free Jamstix coffee mug for finding this bug?
Actually - has there been any progress in negotiating a promotional buy with directixer? I have to echo similar comments made on this topic: Jamstix is amazing at $100 - but to truly work with it as one would expect requires a $50 piece of interface software. More and more it sounds like the software is developed with directixer. The advertised capabilities are based on using directixer. I am feeling left out! Wait until I tell my wife I need $50 to properly use Jamstix. She will blow her stack.

We are waiting for specifics from the DirectiXer guys which are expected this week so stay tuned.

Well let's just say it: I love Sonar but the CW guys dropped the ball on the CW VST adapter with no MIDI out and no barstartpos. It simply is a Sonar deficiency. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I have to agree, if Sonar doesn't host JS without additional software, it's a Sonar deficiency, not a JS deficiency. I'm running perfectly in Samplitude, Traction, Fruity without additional adapter software. I can understand the frustration though. |

We just released beta X3-10 which should allow for changing time signatures even with Cakewalk VST. Let me know your mileage! _________________ Ralph Zeuner
