Sonar is not updating jamstix with song positions. So if you stop a song, Sonar will reset to measure 1 but jamstix stays at the end of song. Also, Sonar goto does not update, same with W, CTL Home,CTL end, etc. Everything more or less corrects when you start playing the song.

Not a huge deal but it would be nice to fix.

Totally separate topic, it would be nice if someone published libraries of common songs already programmed, like fake books. The rythms, fills, and arrangement.

It's a slippery slope. Currently Jamstix only updates its song position pointer when the host is playing. This reduces CPU usage when the host is stopped but it also avoids various issues that arise when a host is stopped but Jamstix needs to continously read and process song position info since the host may update the SPP at any time. There are tons of things behind the scenes that are very complex, such as the time signature tracking, which is unqiue to Jamstix since VST doesn't support multiple time sigs per song. All these are affected by SPP logic.

Finally, some hosts, such as Sonar, don't even send VST SPP unless the host is playing so there's nothing we can do on that front and we'd rather keep the behavior identical across hosts.

My set up is Cubase SX 2.2 w Jamstix 1.7. I typically run Jamstix in Keyword Jam then Manual Jam. I note that if I stop SX, then manually move in SX to a new spot in my song (not necessarily via RW or FF) and resume play from this new spot, JS did not automatically move to the same new spot in its arrangement. Therefore, I need to manually reposition JS as well. A bit tedious and requires an extra step to keep everything aligned.

However, if I have SX running in a loop mode, JS does follow song position accurately.

Is this the same symptom? Any improvements to this in JS V2?

Thanks, and love the tool! Very Happy

Some hosts do not update the VST song position unless they are playing.
