|
|
Here's the current beta version of Jamstix:
Demo Users-> http://66.235.201.50/demos/jamstixX3-14demo.zip
Customers-> http://66.235.201.50/updates/jamstixX3-14.zip
PLEASE NOTE THAT PROJECTS SAVED WITH X3-10 OR LATER CANNOT BE OPENED WITH OLDER VERSIONS OF JAMSTIX
X3-14
- added info prompt to Export function about playing bars prior to export
- inserting and deleting measures now properly moves mute and lock flags
- snare and tom accents no longer play if the rhythm is empty
X3-13
- foot hiHat now automatically plays on quarters during a fill if no other hihat is present
- foot hiHat now automatically plays on quarters when ride is active
- added MIDI automation parameter to control shuffle mode
- fixed issue with doubling of notes when looping in Cubase with either high latency or latency-compensated plugins
X3-12
- fixed "bar jumping" introduced in last beta
- improved kick velocity realism logic
- fixed syncopation jam habit button
X3-11
- when using MIDI-Out Only mode, the DLL location prompt is now suppressed
- fixed behavior of internal engine when going in and out of MIDI-Out Only mode
- when switching off MIDI-Out Only while in external sound mode, the external module is now properly reloaded
- added label showing the name of the currently loaded mapping to the mapping tab
- when Jamstix starts in MIDI-Out Only mode, the internal samples are no longer loaded
- fixed shaker offsets
X3-10
- bar locking now freezes all events of the bar, even if the underlying pattern changes
- time signature changes are now supported in hosts that do not send proper barStartPos information (Cakewalk VST wrapper, FL Studio and others)
- added checkbox to kick panel to allow for double kick rhythms
X3-9
- LiveLoop trigger list now includes triggers already in use but marks them with an *
- LiveLoops are now limited to 99 bars and cannot extend beyond bar 999
- added hint about 'Big Time' window to bar/beat display
- added hint to PLAY button
- fixed arranger redraw issue on pop-up windows in some hosts
X3-8
- fixed bar 1 repeating in some hosts with high latencies
- fixed scrollbar disappearing in arranger under certain crcumstances
- liveloops are now properly checked for overlap when adding a new loop in front of an existing one
X3-6
- implemented bar locking in the arranger
- added custom cursors for the arranger
- LiveLoop trigger list now excludes those already assigned to other loops
- LiveLoop trigger display in the arranger now shows unassigned triggers properly
- kick and snare eighths are now properly played and aligned in shuffle mode
- fixed suppressed Tom 1 2+
X3-5
- adjusted and fixed audit function and it also works now with BFD
- all note triggers now have a '--' item in the pick list to reset/disable the trigger
X3-4
- MIDI file export has been modified to export everything played since the last host PLAY command. This produces a precise copy of that jam session including changes due to real-time factors that the previous export could not support
- Pockets and timing variance have been adjusted to the new timing logic
X3-3
- completely rebuilt timing/synchronization logic that provides faster and tighter synch to the host and can also handle high latencies. We have tested external engines up to 500ms. The internal engine is still limited to a max of about 150ms but that should suffice for now.
- fixed repeating bar 1 in hosts without barstartpos
X3-2
- fixed arranger draw issue when scrolled left in free or key word jam with arranger being open
- 'Play Input' status is now remembered when closing/reopening GUI
X3-1
- fixed arranger draw issue when using scrollbar so that bars where partially shown
- fixed missing arrangement redraw in free or key word jam with arranger being open
- bar jumping is now disabled if host is playing
- fixed jumpy smoothing slider in FL Studio
- changed arranger mode slider switch due to difficult use with touchpad

I have it in now right over the install of 1.1... that is right, right? I just renamed 1.1 to dll.OFF and put X2 in there.
Seems fine so far.
I would like to ask something about the BarOffset, which you so kindly included after me talking about a need for it in SX if one offsets the bars in a project.
Not sure if this is the right thread to talk about this... but here goes:
First BarOffset works fine... shows up fine in the arrangement window, etc.
The only little prob I see not being able to tell JS to NOT begin untill it's past the offset bars. You see, in SX, I think of those as empty space, or maybe intro space if there are enough of them for that.
...and JS starts playing at what it sees as the extreme left edge of time... be it bar -4 or bar -2... whatever has been set up. Now when it does this, it's ok in a way... for example, the second two bars in a 4 bar offset can be set to intro's... BUT what JS also does is start its counting for where fill go from whatever moment it begins to Jam.
So for example... lets say fill is set to every 8 bars. And we have a 2 bar offset. Then what actually happens is the first fill comes at bar 6, the next at bar 6+8=14, and so on...
Maybe I'm asking for too much [just like a newbie right?] but I'm thinking it would be nice if there was a way to have the fill count begin at a designated bar number. OK, OK... I'm just crazy forgive that...
thanks for listening |

We must take care of him a bit to prevent him from getting some sort of "Burn-out-Syndrome"... |

edited: ok now I understand so I removed my previous question. Sometimes I just don't see the controls in JS at first... silly me.
but the below is still a real question.
I also have a wonder about the 'live loop' feature... is there some reason for the current bar limit on it? In other words.. I could imagine another way for picking a 'live loop'... this would be the ability to use the mouse to set the first and last bar of the loop in the arranger and then have it become a loop with a key and name. This would let a loop be made of almost any length for any keypress. [i.e. could be a 1 bar loop or a 64 bar loop] Is this not possible?
X-6 seems to be working ok so far here. |

There are various fixes to LiveLoops lengths in X3-8 and there are more fixes coming later today. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph I see a little prob with the live loops host is Chainer standalone
the prob is the key press assigned to the loop... seems like the lcon we use to have the last pressed midi key set for the loop is not working right for me... it does odd things.... often it picks up the key above the last pressed key for one thing... i.e. I press D4 and it says it's D#4...
then also I don't find that with live loops enabled, the loop played will change... in other words say I have loop 1 set to 4 bars with C4 and loop 2 set to 8 bars with D4 no matter what I hit, only the C4 loop keeps looping... If I hit D4 it should go to that loop [loop 2] when loop 1 is finished, right?
Also the key press indicated in the arranger window often seems to not be the same keypress saved in the windo where you set the trigger key for the live loop. i.e. I have loop 2 set to D#4 and saved but in the arranger loop 2 says it's set to C4.... somefingz messed up in this area
I didn't see this prob in the last version Oh, I am in the new 3X-7 btw.
plz say it's not just me... |

Yes, there is a problem with keys assigned to LiveLoops in the current beta that was caused by the new trigger duplication avoidance logic. Fix will be available soon. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
