I've run up against a couple questions. I'm following along to the Jamstix 3 – MIDI Import video (which is great btw). I'm doing as Ralph did towards the end of the video. I imported a midi clip (in my case, one from BFD). I cleared the limb for the bar of the hi-hat and just kept the kick drum beat and the snare beat. I saved the bar as a style. I then enlisted “Chad” as my drummer to spice up my plain-sounding midi clip.

Here's the two questions I've come up against. One, Chad does a great job on most of the bars, but there will be a bar here or there where he'll strike the snare once, harder than I'd like (this super loud snare strike only occurs a few times in total during the entire song). Is there any way I can go in through the Jamstix bar editor and turn the velocity down on that one single hit within that bar in which it happens? I like where the snare hit is happening, I just would like for the strike itself to be less strong.

Second question, is there any way I can manually tweak some of the cymbal hits that Jamstix has created via the Jamstix bar editor? I like where a lot of the cymbal hits are happening, but there are a few here and there that I'd like to remove.

Thank you in advance for your help! I love this program Smile .

Q1: if you click on and highlight the snare hit thats too loud, now just turn down the velocity knob ( top right of the bar editor ) to a level your happy with.
TIP, if you click the loop arrow top left of the bar editor you'll be able to hear when its to your liking.
Once the bar is how you like, click the lock icon on the right hand side and your bar will not change.

Q2
You can tweek the cymbals or any other hit it the bar editor using the method above with the vel, pri, tim and hat knobs in the bar editor.
Double clicking will insert a new or remove an existing hit in the bar editor.

hth's

BTW the manual covers this and a LOT more, well worth the read Smile

Cheers

Thank you Wolff_man. Your answers were a big help Very Happy .

And you were right, the answer to question #1 can be found right there on page 46 of the manual Embarassed .

Question #2, I should have clicked the "accent" button in the brain display, and then the data for the cymbal hits could be found and edited in the bar display.

I printed up the manual a couple weeks ago, read it back to front, highlighted it, and still have these mental lapses Embarassed . Thank you Wolff_man for being so kind as to answer my questions.
