|
|
| Ralph - Is an updated version of the JS2 manual in the works? After working with JS2 for a while now, I think it's time to re-read the manual. However, I sure would like to have an updated version covering all the changes since August 20th... |

An updated manual will be part of the next official release/update. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| No problem -- I'll just re-read the old one AND then the new one (when it comes out), too! |

The Library part of the site still has the 1.8 version of the Jamstix Manual. (I took a look because my normal work and surfing computer doesn't run Windows, so running an .exe to read the revised manual was Right Out. Guess I'll wait 'til I get it installed on the other computer...)
Also noticed that the main Jamstix Information page still has the "Free upgrade / 8-20-07" offer at the top.
But I'm glad the software is updated well before the website; too many places do it the wrong way around |

I just re-checked, and my problem was hitting the Jamstix Information link off the top of the Jamstix General Forum page, which indeed took me to Jamstix info rather than Jamstix2 info; from there I wound up in the Jamstix1 Library and didn't realize it.
If you go to the Rayzoon homepage, then to Jamstix2 info, you get to the Jamstix2 library, where the Jamstix2 manual lives. I can't tell offhand whether the copy there is the revised version. It says Jamstix 2 (not 2.1), and has an md5sum of a2f38ef760d1764f6728fa4494a9d580. |

| FYI - when you run the installer a new 2.1 manual is placed in the docs folder. |

Many thanks, now I can print it from my main computer. I'll also be installing the latest once I re-burn my DVD+RW that I keep around for updates -- I've been re-burning more than installing (guilt!), but now I have an upgraded system to install on.
Between Jamstix2 and Amplitube, the old Althon 1.8GHz wasn't cutting it, so my new box is a Core2Duo at 3GHz... hopefully I'll get a chance this weekend to report how things go with that. Also upgraded to Tracktion3 for the dual-core support.
New manual, new software, new gear... time to cut some new tunes... |
