Hey All,

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out......

I have a song I"m working on, and I want to have eight (or so bars of silence) then have the drums start with a fill. Is there a way to preview fills to see what will work with the guitar intro? If so, is it as simple as entering a fill into the timeline at the point I want? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Jeff Appleton

Best method imho is to loop that specific part of the song (don't know what program you are using: Sonbar, Cubase?), make a part in JS2 with the Silent style and the drummer you like, go to the bar where you want the fill, click on the fill tab in the Brain and press the COMP button: let the program play and listen to what JS2 comes up with: if you don't like it press COMP again and JS2 will come up with something else. Keep on doing this until you like what you hear! You might want to lock that bar to make sure it won't be changed again.

You can also just use the 'Create Intro' function in the part menu and set it to 8 bars. In addition to what J van E said about previewing the fill and COMPing it over and over: try to change the fill knobs and sliders to get a specific fill going or press the dice (with FILL page open) to randomize them.

I really like simple instructions like these. I love them because, sometimes when I get on the PC for some reason, my mind just goes blank and when JS starts jamming, all I do, is jam back with it. I totally forget to get my song finished.
That is one of the reasons why I love JS now, cause its more song friendly. In other words, you want to only work on the Intro, then just work on the intro, then move on part by part. Thats is so cool. Thanks Ralph!
