|
|
When I play a song using JS2 in Sonar and click on the ruler to let the song play on from a different location while playing, JS2 doesn't follow: it keeps on playing where it was. This is a known problem with Sonar. On the Sonar forum I read about a few enhancements for VST's. Now I don't really know what they all mean, but might one of them possibly take care of this problem...?
| Quote: | Realtime event flagging:
VST events are now flagged as realtime when notes are played via live input. This is for the benefit of the Access Virus that relies on this behaviour for low latency output.
Respond to the "sendVstMidiEventFlagIsRealtime" audioMasterCanDo callback. This is a new VST2.4 cando that is used by the Access Virus to check if the host sends MIDI flagged as realtime.
Program Changes:
Fix reported problem with track embedded program changes not being transmitted properly to VST's. MIDI program change events in tracks were being transmitted to VST's with the status byte set to 0. This is invalid and was being ignored by synths.
VSTi stuck notes:
Some VSTi synths do not respond to normal note off messages from the SONAR transport and may get stuck notes during playback. For these synths, SONAR 7 now exposes a new parameter that will force those synths to suspend playback after a transport stop. To enable it, open the Plug-in Properties for a VSTi and check “Always suspend on stop” |

I don't think these fixes apply to this problem but let's see if some S7 user can chime in...? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I ordered S7, so as soon as I've got it, I'll see myself if the problem still exists. |

Sonar 7 user here.
Sonar 7 did NOT correct the problem you described. |

I recommend you guys post bug reports to Cakewalk support. There are very few plugins that synch to bars so this is an easy bug to ignore for them unless users request that it be fixed. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I believe I have figured this out. To get JS2 to play the correct measures when clicking the ruler to change playback to a different location while the song is playing, you need to check the "Set Now Time with Full Restart" option on the global options general tab. JS2 seems to work perfectly for me with this option checked. |

| For the record, that same setting is available in Sonar 6 and solved the problem in 6 for me also. Timing works perfectly for me in sonar with this Set Now Time With Full Restart option turned on. |
