EDIT: Beta 2.0.19 is now available that implements the new skin
We are working on offering skinning in Jamstix 2 within the next few weeks. This will initially be just a single, alternate skin and no SDK, until we have more time. Even without a SDK, some 3rd parties may be able to provide skins if they so desire. We will assist any way we can.
Here is a screenshot of the new skin (named 'Cymbolize') as work in progress:
Hopefully this will appeal more to the 'fuzzy-green-haters' _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I also like the green one as it is, but do you agree in comparision to JS1 skin, JS2 skin has less contrast (maybe of the better 3D look of the buttons and font in JS1, I can't say) ?
For sure I'm the last one who requests a new skin.
See the difference of Jamstix1 to Jamstix2:

| Great idea I think. I will be interested to see what some of the graphic designer guys can come up with. |

This is great news.
That cymbolize skin looks great, an improvement from the orignal skin imo. |

What ???
You're da man, Ralph ! Even though I don't like the new skin that much, I well appreciate your extra effort in making JS2 skinnable. This is awesome. You listened to your customers, which is very exceptional these days. I'm so happy I'd even buy an extra copy of JS2
Cheers and thanks a lot for making a superb piece of software even better,

Very interesting, surprising and cool. What's also cool is seeing the two interfaces together (1 and 2). Fuzzy text on a solid background was replaced with solid text on a fuzzy background!
While I don't think that this was necessary, I do think that it might be helpful. Jamstix is an amazing and complicated piece of software; any clarity helps. |

| Cool! I think JS is an amazing product and has awesome support, but the one thing I think it lacks is a "professional" look and feel. I think if the JS team can nail down the look they would do even that much better than they already are. So what is a good skin? Well I think something like this http://www.xlnaudio.com/index.php?page=products&p_page=pictures looks very polished and professiona. |

| Wow, I like the 'Cymbolize' skin. The trademark Rayzoon bright green is a nice accent. |

With all due respect - I would actually prefer a simple "version 1" skin. Going from v1 to v2 has been a bit confusing for me, because it is a totally different approach. Its surely better, but it takes time to learn. Because of the background not all buttons come out clear on the screen and that make it (more) difficult to learn... IMHO
Having a drumkit or whatever on the background is not my cup of tea. It confuses me and to be honest I dont need the look of vsti's to be cool. I need them to be easy and intuitive to operate - and of course sound great.
With that said, thanks to Ralph for a really great program I'm so looking forward to the Metal pack! |

We will also supply a 'Simple' skin with a monochrome background that should please you more. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yep. +1 over here. If I could have the "crisp" look of V1 text on V2 - that would be a great start. Unfortunately - the V2 fonts are a mess. Too many different styles cramming a very small workspace. It's hard to read and hard to "interface" with.
Some pro level skins will definitely be a step in the right direction. |

I think this skin is a step in the right direction. I have to agree with the folks who say the writing on the interface could be bolder and easier to read. I hope that this can be achieved, and that it will be implemented on both skins. _________________ Rock softly and carry a big stick. Wait, what am I saying? Don't Rock softly. - Rock Churchill |
