Will there be support for P5v2? Currently P5 crashes and closes immediately when Jamstix is loaded.

Yes, available though Sonar and Kinetic.

Which Jamstix version are you using? There was a bug that could cause crashes with CW VST, which was fixed in 1.02E and later.

Make sure the date of your jamstix.dll is 04/01/05 or later. If it is earlier, download the 1.02G update or the current 1.03 release candidate from this forum.

I just dowloaded 1.02G this AM. It loads into chaner and then into P5 OK, but of course, that's an extra step.

I'll give 1.03 a ty.

Thanks!

Ok, I did all of this. The 1.03 dll was much smaller than 1.02g.

Anyway, if I try to load Jamstix directly into P5, It looks like Jamsticks successfully loads all of it's data, and then as soon as it's finished, P5 errors out, and closes.

That's weird. Is there any way that you could load Jamstix into MiniHost or SAVIHost just so we know Jamstix runs as a straight VST fine on your system?

I opened it in Sonar 4 and it worked fine (as a wrapped VST).

Sorry about the P5, we'll see if we can check this out once 1.03 is out the door.

I really like Jamstix, and will probably buy it.

It was mentioned in the P5 forum. A number of people are using it in Sonar and LIVE4. It would be sweet if it got along with P5v2, which is just being released as a complete makeover, with a clear edge over LIVE4 this time around. It has generated a lot of interest.

Jamstix would be a great tool to use with P5's open architecture!

I tried to open Jamstix in LIVE 4, but it won't pick it up for some reason.

I'll play with it some more.

Jamstix should work fine in Live 4.1. We will look at the P5 issues.

They sell and license it it seperately for a nominal price ($19). It works with Sonar, Kinetic and P5. Doesn't much help in this situation.

They have P5V2 demo out already? That's pretty good! They just released v2 today.

Yeah, Cakewalk can't bundle the VST adapter because of proprietary rights. They sell and license it it seperately for a nominal price ($19). It works with Sonar, Kinetic and P5. Doesn't much help in this situation.

So it is the same old Cakewalk VST adapter for P5 as for Sonar 4?

That is correct. With several version updates over the last three years or so. Upgrades are free.
