Hi Ralph!. I find that many of the kits show sometimes many missing sounds. Most of the kits have no sound at all once loaded. I did not buy the XL kit because I understood that the set of different kits available for jamstix 1 , are the same used in the XL version of JS2. When I try to load some of the kits , JS2 AND the host (Cubase SX3) quit. Maybe I should re /install....what do you think?

Hi Ralph,

I'm getting exactly the same problem. I just installed JS2 and updated it with the 2.0.16 hotfix. When I load the "Clear Toms and Maple Snare (XL)" kit, there are 4 sounds missing (4 toms). For "Jamstix 2 Classic (XL)" the 3 snare sounds are missing.

I also had Cubase SX3 just vanish on me a couple of times (no error message) when loading a kit. I rebooted and the same kits seemed to load ok, but one of them gave this error:- "Access violation at address 0C2C1CCD in module 'jamstix2.dll'. Write address of 00EB4E68". There were 2 message boxes with same error, one behind the other. When I clicked OK to each, Cubase wiped out again.

Hope this information is of help. In the meantime, I'll try sticking to the default kit.

Regards,

John

Same here with Cubase Studio 4. For instance missing Snare 14x7 Rockstar. Can't also find the sample by manually searching on the harddisk. There are error messages and crashes. I've got the Basic Module plus Brushpak, .dll is 2.0.16 too.

Best regards
Michael

If you have sounds missing and think you should have them due to old JS1 Paks, please send me the names(s) of the sounds (screenshot of missing sound list will do) and I'll check this out.

Concerning those crashes in Cubase: we are working on the issue but it is hard because we cannot duplicate it here on any SX/C4 machine nor can the beta testers. But rest assured we'll get it sorted....

That sound requires XL or SnarePak.

I dont have XL or Snarepak. Must I always watch, that a drumkit contains only those samples that I own? I thought that only those were shown, that match to my constellation.

By the way, crashes occure also with MiniHost. I put older 2.0.15-dll in the directory, because this was stable until now but it doesn't help.
Last things I've changed were: added drummer pics and package with grooveweights (links from threads in the forum).

Best regards
Michael

All the kits in Jamstix 2 that have '(XL)' in the name require the XL kits. If you do not have XL but some expansion Paks, you may want to use the Pak kits in the 'Jamstix1' kit tree that were designed for those Paks instead of (XL) kits.

Concerning MiniHost: could you send me the file rzdlog.txt after a crash and also how exactly the crash occurs (exact steps you take and what happens on the screen).

Thanks!

If any of you get another crash when loading a kit in Cubase, please send me the file rzdlog.txt from the Jamstix2 folder immediately.

Thanks!

Just released 2.0.17 which should fix 'crashing when loading kits with missing sound'.

I'm having the same problem in that I have Jamstix 2.0.17, all the DrumPaks purchased during the Jamstix 1 timeframe, and Drumsticks is missing from many of the Jamstix 2 XL kits. Is there an updated DrumPak or file I need? Thanks.

Brian

Run the 2.0.18 updater and the drumsticks will be added.

Hi Ralph,

I'm also getting the 'sounds missing' error. I have all the JS1 paks and the XL paks. I installed them all, and I tested JS2 in Sonar SE6 and EnergyXT. JS2 is at 2.0.18.

Regards,

Miguel
