Hi,
When using JS1, I was not using DFHS as a host for some reasons. Now using JS2 and since the nice feature to be able to route to a sub-host (DFHS) any sound from JS2 sound panel, so I tried to setup my outputs close as possible that the way I'm working using DFHS in Cubase 4.
So, using the mono outputs is not working as expected (pan problem;read below**), and raise imho that the outputs settings could be push further.
It is confusing and messy to set the option to mono channels, set and deal in JS2 with the numbers of outs as stereo, and works in Cubase having twice mono tracks & numbers.
So my question is; why not to follow the way that Halion is doing the outs setup? I mean to remove the stereo/mono outs option, and to use on the mixer panel 2 incremental box, 1 for the mono outs & 1 for the stereo outs. In such case from the sound panel, instead of the 2 arrows to select the output for a given drum sound, to have a drop list box from which we could select any listed out available; mono or stereo, and when a mono out is selected the pan disable, and when stereo the pan is working as usual. In that way I would be able to set JS exactly like I'm using DFHS in Cubase, having 2 stereo outs (Ambiance & Overheads) and everything else on mono outs, and of course to get a perfect match number between JS, his sub-host, and the audio app host.
**If I want to send the bd to 1 and snare to 2; I have to set both to 1 and to hard pan accordingly but still that I can heard the bs on 2 and snare on 1!?

We will be looking into ways to offer mixed stereo/mono output configurations. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

hi everybody, what do most peeps do withthe stereo out config in jamstix, and in their hosts?
i am using sonar 6. should i just set it up in jamstix to have 4 outs and then have those 4 stereo outs created in sonar?
so that would be kick, snare toms and cymbals on four stereo outs - is that the way to go?
thanks
