There may be a legitimate reason for this but in a new project I find I can't adjust the power level, either manually or by automation. Confused It just sits at a minimum setting of 10%. (In all other projects it's been OK).

I have the song style set to one of the R&B choices, but have selected 8th Rock separately for the chorus parts. I also notice too these 8th Rock parts don't seem to actually play 8th Rock but rather are playing the R&B pattern?? Am I overlooking something somewhere? Confused

Sound like you have 'Jam With Audio' so the lack of audio input forces the song power level to zero. Switch to 'Jam No Input' and the song power level will follow your settings and automation.

This may also fix your rhythm issue since 10% power level severely reduces the rhythm played.

Unfortunately that's not the case. It's definitely set to "Jam - No Input"

Confused

Do you have an automation envelope on 'Song Power' in your project? This is the only thing other than 'Jam With Audio' that can continuously force the song power down.

Yes I do, I am in fact trying to automate the power level. However, regardless of whether I have the automation enabled or not, the power still insists on sitting at 10% Confused I can see it "trying" to follow the automation when it is active, as it occasionally seems to "jump" momentarily as the automated power level changes, but something else is over-riding it and forcing it back to minimum level. AND I also notice it reads the automation OK while playback is stopped. As soon as I hit play power drops down to minimum.

It hasn't been an issue in any other project and has worked as it should, except with this one. Very odd. I can't think of anything I've done differently Confused

Please do a JS2 'Save Song' in that project and send it to me.

Just wondered, any thoughts about this one?
Not a big deal if not as it's just this one project with this particular problem.

Cool

This is one is really beautiful. If you right-click on the song power knob you'll see that you have mapped it to 'Power'. This forms a nice loop that drives the power down as it feeds on itself Smile

Set it to 'None' and your troubles are gone.

Ah ha!! A feedback loop for dummies! Must have done this accidentally...didn't even know there was a right-click option on the power knob! Laughing

Cheers! Cool
