Ok first post here, hello to everyone :

As many have already said thanks for this great plug in, I bought it yesterday and it's amezing ... really something I was waiting for since long time .....

Now to the subject :

I knew what I was going to buy cause I had a look at the demo before, so everything is perfect as long as I jam with acoustic drums,
what if I 'd like to make electronic drums with jamstix?

may be I've been to long the point is would it be possible to use jamstix
with an electronic drum kit and jamming whit it ?

anyone?

Hi and welcome to the board!

Yes, you can drive any sound module with Jamstix, including electronic ones. The Jamstix 'brain" thinks like an acoustic rock/funk drummer so you can get very interesting results since it applies the same "human" drum style to the e-kits and we found that this is often superior compared to the static drum-machine style.

Are you familiar with routing the Jamstix MIDI-Out or loading drum modules into Jamstix?

Hi Zauni, and thanks for answering.

well as I said I smell the power of this plug and I bought it immediatly.
I like his internal acustic sound but more than this I love the "human behavior" it can achieve.

So I thought I must use it as you said as "brain" and use electronic sound
with it.

Now MIDI OUT would be interesting and I 've already thought about that.
what you mean by loading drum modules into jamstix?
are you talking about battery?

This documents talks about using external sound modules inside of Jamstix or via MIDI-Out. The doc is Sonar only at the moment (draft).

The manual that got installed in your jamstix folder also covers these things.

What sequencer are you using?

In Cubase you can load Jamstix as a synth and your drum module of choice as a second synth. Then add a MIDI track and set its input to 'Jamstix' and its output to your drum module. Jamstix now triggers your drum module. You may need to adjust the mapping if its not in GM layout.

Also, in this situation you may wish to unload the internal samples of Jamstix with the R button next to the sample selection box in the mapping tab to save 160MB of RAM or so. However, if you want to run the percussion sounds of Jamstix alongside your external module you should select 'No Sound' manually for all Jamstix sounds you want the external module to play but keep the percussion samples as is. Then save the mapping for future use.

Happy jamming!
