This one is pretty obvious, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere:

How about a midi version of the AudioM8 plugin: maybe MidiM8 that you could insert in a midi track as a midi effect so that Jamstix would follow that track? Tracktion can route midi ins and outs in VST instruments so there it would be easy, but I think that Cubase and Sonar have some kind of midi effect plug format as well.

Lawrence,

what sequencer are you using?
Once you've inserted or loaded Jamstix as a VSTi your sequencer should allow you to route the midi track to Jamstix.

The audioM8 plug is needed because a lot of sequencers won't allow you to route and audio track to a VSTi.

But routing midi tracks to VSTi's is basically what VSTi's are originally intended for.

If you need help on how to do that you might need to post in the Support forum under the specific topic for your host/sequencer.

RichLum is right, you don't need a "midiM8" because that's already built into Jamstix. Just send MIDI to Jamstix and enable 'Jam To MIDI' and the velocity slider will follow the averaged MIDI velocity. Also, in MIDI jam Jamstix can do a lot of things it cannot do with audio, such as jam habits and chord->pattern assignments.
