I have cubase SL 3 and Jamstix 1.8, I've had it for awhile but just now have started trying to use it.
I got everything setup without any trouble and used the free jam at first and then the manual jam with the arranger to finish out about 16 measures.
What I tried to then do is record the output from Jamstix to a MIDI channel in Cubase. That seemed to work but I cannot get Jamstix to play it back. I tried muting Brain and playback is either missing, or getting weird noises. I also get a message when I open jamstix about a MIDI feedback loop and I have no idea what that means.
I have the midi channel that I want to play with no input and output of jamstix. What the heck am I doing wrong?
If someone could give me a link, I tried the manual but not much help there. What I am confused with is what to do with Jamstix after getting the patterns you want. Do you record the data to a midi channel and then mute brain like I am trying to do? I need workflow help how do people use this thing after free jam to record the results to a song? |

Edit: D'oh! Suggestion deleted since I'm an idiot and gave JS2 advice!

Bvesco: he is using JS 1.81, not JS2.
jmtaylor22: you need to set JS1 to 'Manual Jam' with 'Play Input' and 'Mute Brain' both checked.
The feedback loop happens because you have a MIDI track with input and output both being JS1 so you need to fix that in Cubase. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
