Another tune of mine using JS2. Quite different from my previous tune. After getting a few tips (one from Ralph about changing the hihats to the shanked ones: that helped A LOT to get the right feel! ) I just uploaded the next (and probably final) version of the tune here:

Other things that have changed (for those who have heard the previous version): I changed the volume of various crashes (which were too soft), etc., changed the complete drumpart for the mellow middle, added (partial) harmonies for the lead in the last part and removed some string-release-sounds that annoyed me.
BTW To get the effect I wanted with the shanked hihats I had to remove all other hihats (25%, 50%, etc.) otherwise the sound would cut each other off. Now you've got that nice 'drummer-gives-it-all' hihat! I also lowered the volume using an envelope of the hihats track for the mellow middle part, even at low power the drummer was still going crazy with them.  |
