I started a new thread similar to the one I did when I bought JS1 - basically useful snippets selected from the forum. Apologies for no reference to original writers...it's just a quick help reference file.
If it's useful make it sticky and add to it.

The Story so far....

Jamstix 2 Notes

found out the following:
1. after installing js2 and loading some kits I received messages that some samples were missing. these disappeared after installing the sample paks again. strange, since i am not aware that I deleted ore removed some content of the samples folder. so if you are experiencing something similar: just install the kits again.
2. move all the js1 rrf files to the "grooves" folder
3. move all the js1 raf files to the "fills" folder
drjee, is pretty much right on. If you want to uninstall JS1, you should copy the RRF and RAF files as he indicated and also all RZD files to the 'sounds' folder of Jamstix 2.

JS2, Midi out only, EzDrummer mapping.
EzDrummer loaded in Cubase externally (not subhosted).
-- composed a 14 bar sequence with EzDrummer grooves (JS not involved), based on Levon Half Time, fills in completely unconventional locations
-- exported that as a Midifile from C4 to Windows
-- switched on JS, Jam no input, loaded EzDrummer mapping, Drummer Phil, Import Style, imported that Midi, checked repetition fills
-- Result: Phil interpreting that Midi almost literally, let it run for approx 80 measures, perfect.
-- drag'n'drop to C4 - voila, 80 bars of that strange but cool "composition" with added flavour
-- repeated play through while playing with the controls, power, brain, even changed drummers - a rainbow of possibilities while still keeping the original groove idea completely intact
-- You could replace the EzDrummer part with JS2's own sounds or any other sound module, the EzDrummer Midis with your own Midis or a self-programmed part, doesn't matter. Same concept, same amazing results.
-- This is absolutely incredible for a control freak like me, Ralph, what galaxy did your space ship come from ? Shocked
-- Now the only thing that could even improve this way of working would be the ability to import a sequence via drag'n'drop from C4 into JS, thus eliminating the need to export as a mid to Windows. Maybe for Christmas ? Wink
Had to share this with you, maybe somebody can use these concepts which are not immediately obvious (at least not for me).

I want very short 2 or three note fills on some songs all the way through and it seems the r-beat setting it the only way to do it...how do I set it so it effects the whole song and not individual parts?
Ray: sonicviz, make sure 'Vary' is zero and set the R and T length for each part. That should do it. [Make sure you save before moving to another part...atm it seems to reset the changes if you change parts otherwise]

When you import a MIDI clip, JS2 groove, JS1 rhythm etc. into Jamstix, it is all stored internally and the external file is not needed anymore.

can you tell me how and what notes are moved, when I use the shuffleparameter for 8th or/and for 16th?
8th notes are moved from 0 to 0.1666666666 PPQ (linear 0-100%)
16th notes are moved from 0 to 0.0833333333 PPQ (linear 0-100%)
if your seq is at 960 ticks per quarter then the note gets moved 960x0.166666 ticks
