|

Don't know if this one has already been reported:
When I start JS2.0.9 and cancel the song dialog in Cubase SL 2, I get the Drum Module Mode. I switch to Jam - no input and see that there is 1 part (called verse) with bars 4 and reps 30. I assign a style (custom rock) and drummer (charlie) and a kit (rock classic) and hit start.
I see JS running but it is not creating any midi notes and thus no sound. As soon as I assign a second part beneath the previous it starts creating the notes.

You are making sure you current Cubase bar position is within the one default part, right? Otherwise, that would expalin it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I actually see the same behaviour in Sonar 6.
What I found is that when you click on the part, in the Bars or Reps Column, the part edit window opens. Now for some reason in this window time signature is set to 1/4. When I change it to 4/4 Jamstix starts to create notes.
Maybe this helps Ralph to locate the problem.
cheers

Yes, it is very consistent, happens every time I do this. No notes, even hitting recompose button, or restarting the song again. JS2 is running, the bars are counting but no notes are generated.
As soon as I add a second part, even while still playing with no notes, it starts to generate them in the previous part. |

This also happens in VSTHost I just noticed, hopes this helps.

This is actually what my "Reps Not Repeating" thread was about (don't bother looking, I didn't post the solution because I thought it was just me). I got it to go away by adding a part rather than using the default 4 bar / 30 reps part that canceling "load song" gives you.
They should fix this, but in the meantime you should be able to get around it. _________________ Rock softly and carry a big stick. Wait, what am I saying? Don't Rock softly. - Rock Churchill |

Hey Lucky, can you try the workaround I suggested and post back if it cures the problem?
I suspect that the part is created with a wrong time signature and then when playback starts the host reports a different time sig so that the brain gets a little confused |

Funny, I had just tried your findings, Niko, and indeed the default time signature is 1/4. After changing this to 4/4 it immediately works.
Thanks Niko! |
