Previewing Midi Files Not Working Until First File is Loaded

I don't know if this is intentional but this is what happens:

New progect in Sonar 6.2
Load Jamstix 2 (2.09)
Cancel the presets
Set to Jam - No midi input
Load Kit Jamstix 2 - Hard
Load Drummer James Stix
Load Style Import
Click the down arrow in Part Import>Import Midi Pattern
Click Preview

From here no midi files will play until I select one and load it. Then any other midi file will preview.

EDIT: This happens when ever a new blank bar/part is picked and try to preview a midi part for this part when nothing previously has not been rendered.


Might be a bug....might not! This was the same in all betas that I can remember.

I just noticed the same thing in Cubase 4.

That's a side effect of the way the preview works. Note very intuitive and should be fixed.
