|
|
After installing, I attempted to open Cubase 4 so I could open JS2 and install the stock kit. The activation window popped up, and I entered my user name and liscence key. Nothing happened. I waited, clicked the OK or "continue" or whatever button is on that activation screen - still nothing. Eventually I used Task Manager to shut it down.
So I tried again. This time Cubase 4 opened fine - with no activation window for JS2. I assumed I would get the activation window when I tried to open JS2 itself, but JS2 is not in my list of VST instruments. "Jamsticks" is there. I look in my Programs/Steinberg/VST plugins folder, and it has a Jamsticks folder and a Jamsticks 2 folder. I figured reinstalling JS2 would get me off to a fresh start, but it did not give me the activation window again.
I don't know what to do next.

IIRC Cubase 4 sometimes seems to "hide" the activation screen.
Please reinstall JS 2 and this time use a free host (like SAVIhost for example) to go through the activation process.
Let me know if this helps. |

Please use the 2.0.2 hot fix available in your download page and see if it helps.
Also, once the activation is done, it will not show up again even if you reinstall. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

It is possible that the activation was completed and then the screen just froze. I went home at lunch time and installed the 2.0.1 hotfix - no difference - My VST instrument list in Cubase only includes JS1, even thought the Program files/steinberg/VST Plugins folder has JS! and JS2 folders in it. There's no reason why I need to remove JS1, is there?
When I go home tonight, I'll try hotfix 2.0.2. |

Maybe it just listed Jamstix 2 as unloadable. Please use the 2.0.4 hotfix and manually re-check Jamstix 2 in the Cubase plug-in list so it will reload it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks. Man, the betas are flying fast!
I'm not sure what you mean by "manually re-check Jamsticks 2 in the Cubase plug-in list" |

Got to Devices ->Plugin List. I bet Jamstix 2 listed yellow at the bottom of the list as unloadable. Checkmark it to overwrite this and it should load again if you restart Cubase. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I found it. I went to the Plugin list as you suggested, but it was not yellow or at the bottom of the list - it was no t present at all. I played around, rebooted, etc. and before ai gave up, I noticed a button in the top lef corner - "reset", I think?(I'm away from that computer right now). As soon as I hit that button, my JS2 activation screen popped up.[/list] |
