Ralph,
I just noticed that most of the drum paks are included with Jamstix 2. Will this be one single download? Is there anyway to break it up into smaller pieces? The reason why I'm asking is because the big downloads are VERY taxing for those with low-band connections. (Yes, some of us still use the cheaper services.)
Are the new paks different from the JS1 stuff, or are they just a feature for the JS2 users? Personally, I'd be just as happy grabbing just what I need, but if it's changed, then we'll have have to acquire the new paks. However, downloading smaller chunks can be a lot easier and enable the low-band guys to use what they have and get the rest later.
Your thoughts? |

The XL kits are simply all the current Paks together, just like the Jamstix 1 Jamboree. If you have them already then there's no need to get the XL version or to re-download the Paks, Jamstix 2 will find your currently installed Pak sounds.
Jamstix 2 uses a new compression scheme for its stock kit as well as the XL kits that will cut downloads in half of what they currently are. The sizes will be roughly as follows:
Jamstix 2 Stock Kit: 1 x 80MB download
XL Kits: 3 x 80MB downloads
It all expands to about 1.5GB on disk after installation. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
